But I recently found a website that did something exciting than this and yes it was an interesting information that I am sharing here in this post.

While searching for some websites related to diamond stud earrings, I landed up on this website - www.diamondearrings.org. Nothing special about this webiste that makes it stand apart from its competition. However what I noticed was its business plan that makes it really apart from others.

On the home page it says that It is currently running a special offer - it is going to provide a beautiful set of simulated diamond earrings to everyone having an account with twitter, facebook or myspace page, blog, youtube, etc. To be eligible the only thing that the participant has to do is put up a link to the above website. Also, the participant should be willing to pay the $3.77 for postage and handling. Simple. This offer runs for a limited period only and the particpant can participate and take home as many sets as links s/he is able to put on.

This is what makes the website stand apart from the others of its niche. While many other websites are busy doing the SEO to get to the top of the search engines and paying out for advertisements of their websites, the diamondearrings.org website has used its own resources to generate an interest among the visitors to spread the brand name. It is quite likely that they would have a large number of backlinks and visibility in their initial days. This is what needs to be learnt from this entire exercise of theirs.

How to go about publicizing your website without getting into the White Hat and Black Hat SEO? How do you start getting traffic and force the Search Engines to start indexing your website...

Many of us who are into website development need to think about different strategies of getting the website exposed to the clients so that the reach of the website can be maximum. 

There are different ways suggested by the Web Gurus. The most authentic and appreciated one is the Search Engine optimization which basically means making modifications in the web-pages so that the search engines like Google and Others can readily create a database of the information presented in the web page and then deliver the web page url to the prospects who are in need of the page.

The SEO is a very slow process and this takes about a minimum of 6 months to get effective. The reasons of this delay are many but the most essential is the fact that the bots of the search engines do not crawl the internet on a daily basis. This means that it will take some time to get the website indexed and cached by the search engine. So what do you do till then? You must remember that you have already invested an amount in getting the domain space, creation of the website and as such you should start giving the exposure your website needs.

Most of them would visit your website (the url that you have place the ad for) and will take about 2 weeks to 2 months for approval of your website. Once your website is approved, you will be sent an email containing the details of the advert that you had booked with them and their visitors can find you.  Some of them, however, need you to put a Back Link on your website.  

 
b. The Paid Inclusions: These are the directories that need you to pay an amount to get listed and this amount varies from directory to directory and the package of advertisement that you opt for. In these the inclusion is done as soon as they have received the payment.

2. Use the PTCs: This is the second method of publicizing your website. In these cases, you use the services of Paid to Click websites that will flash your ads to the visitors. These sites have a lot of users who are registered with them just for the sake of the clicking adverts and getting payments. This method helps to get traffic to your website no doubt, but there are chances that you will rarely find a potential customer from them. I do not say that you will not find one, but what I mean is that the chances are remote. The reason is quite simple and obvious - The people who are with them and viewing the ads, are not viewing the ads for the sake of finding useful information. Instead, they are using the services and viewing the ads with an aim of earning and that’s all. So if you have a product that helps them in making more money, you are more likely to get some potential customers.
The PTCs publish your adverts in lieu of some money. Now you can join them and earn and then use the same money to buy adverts or in case you want you can just pay them from your pocket.

3. The Website Traffic Generators - These are the third category of services on the internet that you can use to generate the initial traffic to your website. The people who use such services are mostly webmasters and as such you must keep in mind that the chances of getting potential customers for your products and services are negligible from these websites. The working method here is similar to those of PTC. You can view the ads on these sites and use the clicks earned to buy or book advert spots for your WebPages.

The Result:
Among all the three methods, the submission of a website to a web directory is most fruitful in terms of getting quality traffic to your website. The other two methods are good to get traffic only. You might be wondering now is "What Good the Traffic Will Be if it is not Potential Customers?"
 

Well, there is a secret involved here - Search Engines are not yet smart enough to find out what happens when the visitor comes to your site. They are interested ion the number of times your website has been visited and this helps them in maintaining when to crawl your website. As for my personal experience, my website was launched in March 2009 and did not have any page rank. Then I started using the methods described above, and in three months, my website traffic had increased to 600 visitors per month. Now my website has a page rank of 0. It is better than having nothing for the long time it has been there. The next thing is that I also had a few queries from the visitors regarding the services that I provide on my website.

In my earlier posts I had mentioned a method of getting traffic to your website (Get Visitors to Your Blog or Website for Free) and also what to do next (I got traffic to my website... what next?). In this post I will be telling you about another method to keep that traffic on your website.

Before that there are a few things that you have to keep in mind-
1. The visitor who is surfing on the traffic-webiste will be more interested in getting more credits like you so that he can promote his website.
2. The promoting website will display your page for a very small time averaging about 30 seconds. This means that you have approximately 10 seconds in which you have to have your page loaded. I say 10 seconds because the remaining time has to be given to the user to scan through the page.
3. Within the next 10-20 seconds that you have, you have to communicate to the user about your product and draw him into the page.

Graphics: Use the graphic images to emphasise the Product and Theme of the page. What I mean is that you should have images of the product that your page promotes and to which the traffic is being directed to. A word of caution here - When working with graphic images DO NOT over do them. Keep the number of images to the barest minimum level so that the pages load fast and quick.

Colors: Use a rofessional color combination for the background and foreground. Keep the colors to the lighter side so that the users do not get upset by seeing bright colors. Use eye-soothing but attractive colors.

Fonts: Use fonts effectively and use the Heading tags of HTML to classify the different sections of the webpage. This will be effective in highlighting the attributes or feaures of the product.

Testimonials: Most of the web users feel satisfied if there are some testimonials available on the page. Technically speaking, I would not support having many testimonials on the page because many of the users who are surfing via the sites are professionals and would hardly have time to read them. But having a couple of testimonials is essential as later when you are emailing the pages as solo ads, these will go to the clients who can be interested. Again having a set of testimonials on youe actual page willnot harm you.

Well,the answer to this variess from visitor to visitor. The traficc pulling sites are great in case you just need traffic. But whether the visitor is a prospective client or not it depends on what the visitor is looking for and wht your website or blog is offering.

To get prospective clients to your site, there are a couple of ways -

1. Get your website or blog optimised.
Most of us have searched for information over the internet using some or search engine. Optimisation is the art  of getting higer rankings in the search results of the search engines. For this one needs to have the services of a professiona optimiser who will make modifcations and changes in your webiste which will enable your website or blog to appear higher in the search engine results pages.

2. You can also try manually placing links into search directories which are willing to advertise your site on their pages. There are two different kinds of such directories -
a. Free directories - They allow your advertisements to be included for free and on some occassions need your website or blog to link back to them in return. This a batter idea to start with if you are plannning to publicise your blog or webiste.
b. Paid inclusions - These directories ask for money and in return publish your advertisements on thier sites.

Most of us who have a blog or a website are always on the lookout of getting traffic to their website. I too own a website and have been on the lookout for getting traffic to it. I have laready tried some Search Engine Optimization but the fact is that this will take its own time to get effective.

Google and other search engines do provide the facilities of buying sponsored links but I am unwilling to invest any amount. The reason is that I do not have the funds to spare. Most of us will not want to spend money to get noticed on the search engines. The other logic is that I understand (and believe that many of the internet users too understand) that the paid and sponsored links are to be avoided while searching for any information. So if I am unwilling to click on the sponsored links, I have to believe that none on the Internet will. This is another reason that I avoid the paid links system. Again, I work from home and as such, it is just a small business in which I do not want to invest. I want to earn first and then think of investing to make the business grow.

I had been searching for alternatives using which I can get traffic to my website. Recently I found a webiste that mentions the following -

1. Human Clicking. This is great for a website or blogs. This ensures that you do not have visitors from one computer or the same IP. So in case you have google Adsense on your blog or website, you can remain free from tensions.

2. Method - They send emails containing links for your page or blog to others. In return they expect you to check the links from others to you. This means, it works benefitting all.

3. As they allow you to create an account fro free, they have some limitations too.But I think that these have to be accomodated as I get the service for free. Rules like - you should not have any porn content on thesite, there should not be any popups, you need to click for some adverts on the site to gain points and hits.
